Apply for a Shiba Inu Puppy
Shomaisou Shiba Inu
An Accountable, Heritage and Preservation Breeder of Purposefully Bred Purebred Dogs
Puppy Application Process
Thank you for your interest in a Shiba Inu from Shomaisou Shiba Inu. Our application process helps us learn about your household, experience, goals, timing, and expectations so we can determine whether one of our puppies or adult dogs may be a good fit.
The guided worksheet below is our primary application. Alternatively, applicants may use either the Good Dog application or our downloadable PDF application. Each option requests the same Shomaisou-specific information we need before discussing a possible placement.

How Review Works
-
Initial application.
Submit one of the available Shomaisou puppy applications. -
Household and experience review.
We review lifestyle, home setup, dog experience, training plans, veterinary care, Shiba Inu readiness, and long-term goals. -
Conversation and follow-up.
We may ask follow-up questions, request clarification, or schedule a phone or Microsoft Teams consultation. -
Approved home consideration.
Approval means a household may be a good fit. It does not reserve a puppy, color, sex, litter, or place in a queue. -
Puppy evaluation and matching.
Final placement decisions are made after puppy development and evaluation, with decisions generally made between six and eight weeks of age.
Guided Application Worksheet
Complete the nine steps below, review your answers, and submit the worksheet online. Required questions are marked with an asterisk. Both you and Shomaisou will receive a copy by email.
Some Shomaisou dogs are co-owned, and a litter may be whelped or raised with a co-breeder. Some puppies may participate in Puppy Preschool in Michigan from five to eight weeks of age. These litters may appear on our website, Petnax, or live cameras even when they are not listed on Good Dog.
Co-Owned and Co-Bred Litters
Some Shomaisou dogs are co-owned with other breeders, and those arrangements may determine where litters are whelped. We work with co-breeders in West Virginia and Michigan, and some puppies move to Michigan at five weeks for Puppy Preschool until eight weeks of age.
Because not every litter is eligible to be listed on Good Dog, our website, Petnax listings, live cameras, and direct communication may show puppy information that does not appear on Good Dog.
