Application Privacy Notice

Information We Collect and Why

We collect the contact, household, dog-care, veterinary-reference, placement-preference, and permission information requested in our application. We use it to evaluate whether a Shomaisou puppy or adult dog may be a suitable placement, communicate with applicants, discuss logistics, and verify references or permissions an applicant provides.

Questions about occupation help us understand schedules and care arrangements. Questions about residency help identify long-term residence and international transport considerations. Language questions help us communicate clearly. Applicants may leave optional questions blank or select “Prefer to discuss” where offered.

Application Delivery and Retention

The online worksheet is delivered through FormSubmit, which emails a copy to Shomaisou and an acknowledgment copy to the applicant. FormSubmit states that submissions are retained by its service for 30 days. Shomaisou retains its emailed copy only as long as reasonably needed to evaluate the application, communicate about a possible placement, maintain placement records, or meet legal obligations.

Sharing and Background Checks

We do not sell application information. We share it only with providers needed to deliver the application, with veterinarians or other references the applicant authorizes us to contact, with co-breeders when relevant to a specific possible placement, or when required by law.

Submitting the application does not initiate a background check. If a check is considered during final approval, the applicant will receive additional information and authorization materials before it occurs.

Corrections, Deletion, and Questions

To correct application information, request deletion of Shomaisou’s copy, or ask a privacy question, email rex@shibas.dog. Do not include Social Security numbers, financial account information, or unrelated sensitive information in the application.
